Shopping in Rome:
Rome is an expensive city, so don`t expect to find too many bargains. Nevertheless
window shopping is a joy and you will find good value for money if buying
leather goods (shoes, bags, gloves and belts) and certain decorative
items including Italian modern designer goods and glassware.
Usually shops open between the times 9am-1pm and 3.30-7.30pm except on
Sundays.
`Sales`last from about mid July to mid September and from Christmas to
March and often excellent reductions can be found.
The lively and more colourful markets are worth a visit in the centre of
Rome, here you`ll find more affordable prices alongside a wide variety
of goods. They usually open 7am-1pm and only the Porta Portese flea market
is open on Sunday.
Women`s Fashion: For the fashion-conscious amongst you, Rome has many
pleasures in store. With the likes of Prada, Moschino, Armani and many
more well known labels you`ll be spoilt for choice.
Men`s Fashion: Maybe the Italian are naturally seductive. But what is
certainly true is that the cut of men`s clothes made in Italy plays a large
part in their appeal.
Rome`s many boutiques for men are all fairly upmarket and here you`ll find
a wide variety of good quality jackets, shirts, jumpers. Like ladies Fashion
many well known designer brands can easily be found for men, but be prepared
to pay!
